EdThumb plugin for ChatGPT
- Have an EdThumb account (sign up for free at edthumb.com).
- In ChatGPT, find the EdThumb app among the available apps and choose connect.
- You will be taken to the EdThumb sign-in page. Sign in with your account and authorize access.
- Done: ask for a thumbnail in the chat. The studio and the editor open next to the chat.
- In ChatGPT, open settings, go to the connected apps section, select EdThumb and disconnect.
- Or ask us at support@edthumb.com and we will revoke access on the EdThumb side.
When you use the plugin, EdThumb only receives the requests ChatGPT forwards to create or edit your thumbnails, not your conversation history. EdCoins are deducted from your account just like on the website. Details in the Privacy Policy.
Delete account and data
- Characters and photos: delete them at any time in the dashboard, in the characters area.

- YouTube channel: unlink it in the channel settings and, if you want, revoke access in your Google account permissions.

Frequently asked questions
What is EdThumb?+
EdThumb is an AI-powered YouTube thumbnail maker. Pick one of 300+ ready-made styles, add your character and the video topic, and AI generates the thumbnail in seconds. Then just fine-tune it in the editor and download.
Do I need design skills or Photoshop?+
No. Describe what you want in plain words, pick a style and EdThumb does the rest. Fine-tuning is done by marking an area on the image and saying what to change.
How much does it cost to generate a thumbnail?+
EdThumb runs on credits called EdCoins. Each generated thumbnail uses 5 EdCoins and each edit uses 3 EdCoins. Monthly plans include EdCoins, and you can buy one-off packs whenever you need more.
Will my face really look like me?+
You upload photos of your face once as a character, and it shows up in your thumbnails with high facial fidelity. Only use photos of yourself or of people who have authorized the use of their image.
How does Channel identity work?+
Link your YouTube channel and pick 3 reference thumbnails. EdThumb extracts your channel’s visual DNA (text style, colors, effects and character energy) so new thumbnails look like they belong to the same channel, without copying the old ones.
How does A/B testing work?+
EdThumb generates 3 variations built on different hypotheses (Emotion, Curiosity and Text + contrast). Upload all three to YouTube Studio’s "Test & compare" feature and, once the results are in, mark the winner in EdThumb so it learns what converts on your channel.
How do I use EdThumb inside ChatGPT?+
Connect your EdThumb account in ChatGPT and ask for thumbnails just by chatting. The EdThumb studio and editor open next to the chat, using the same characters, channel identity and EdCoins as your account. You can disconnect at any time.
What happens to my photos?+
Your photos are only used to generate your thumbnails and are stored securely until you delete them. You can delete characters, images or your entire account whenever you want. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes. Billing is monthly and you can cancel at any time, with no fees.
